    1. Pune Railway Station serves as a stop for south bound trains from Mumbai, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan as the origin/destination for trains to north India. Pune is well linked to the entire country by this station. There are plans for a bullet train from Pune to Ahmedabad which will originate/terminate here. This is a major head for freight transport for Pune.
    2. The station is powered by a 160 kWp solar power plant which generates around 2.4 lakh units annually. The project is the first of its kind for Railways, funded by Persistent CSR, Sunshot engineered the plant and commissioned in June 2016. This project is replicated at Hyderabad Deccan railway station and was inaugurated by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
